A Dream Project
Every once in a while, a project comes along that allows you to use all of your creative talents, all of your products and services. We were so delighted when the owner’s vision and our design aligned for this gorgeous project!
Last year, we had the wonderful opportunity to work with our friends, the Baileys. The project was to create an outdoor oasis- landscape services, a pool, pool decking, irrigation, outdoor lighting…and then, we were given the opportunity to maintain it.
The Land
The Bailey’s bought a 1/2 acre lot in the historic city of Franklin, TN. In the last ten years, Franklin, Tennessee has been recognized nationwide by Garden and Gun, Travel and Leisure, and the NY Times, as one of the Top 10 “Best Small Towns in America”. The lot backs up to the The Park of Harlinsdale Farms, a 198 acre park owned by the City of Franklin. Harlinsdale Farms is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places and a training facility for the famed Tennessee Walking Horse. The farm today is used as a park with walking trails and picnic areas.
Hearing What Is Important
The Bailey’s had carefully planned every aspect of their modern farmhouse. Their family owned a rock quarry and had asked us if it were possible to incorporate some of the limestone and quartz into the design of the pool decking. Taylor Milliken, the owner of Milosi knew the importance of this request, and was able to design the decking using their family materials. The end result is not only beautiful, but sentimental!
